    Art Academy is a course for everyone who wishes to learn about the Polish contemporary art market and all processes that govern it. Course participants will discover the fascinating world of professional art galleries, fairs and rankings. They will also be given a chance to meet some selected artists and listen to their success stories.

    Karolina Nowak-Sarbińska


    Karolina Nowak has been associated with the art market for about a dozen years. She is a graduate of theHistory of Art at the Jagiellonian University and specialises in modern art. Compiling art collections, she has advised in purchasing the works of, inter alia, Magdalena Abakanowicz, Wilhelm Sasnal and Agnieszka Brzeżańska. As a columnist, she shares her knowledge with readers of “Parkiet”, the Stock Exchange paper.

    She was a curator and a co-curator of exhibitions (such as Jakub Julian Ziółkowski’s first solo exhibition at the Fine Arts Academy Gallery in Cracow in 2004 and a group exhibition “New Old Cold War. Post Socialists Countries Experience”, which was a part of the 3rd Biennial of Contemporary Art in Moscow in 2009). She used to work in the Museum Sztuki in Łódź and in the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw.

    She is responsible for creating collections of works of art and managing them afterwards. Moreover, she is a lecturer at the Academy of Art – the course which is a practical guide for present and future collectors.
