Lux Coin company has released the Cognac Coin

Lux Coin company has created a truly unique coin. A capsule containing the oldest Cognac in the history – Gautier 1762 – was placed in the center of the coin. This was possible thanks to cooperation between the company and the Mint of Poland, which is one of the most technologically advanced mints in the world.

Cognac Gautier 1762 was produced in the year when the Trevi Fountain was revealed in Rome, whereas Louis XV was still reigning over France. In 2015, the alcohol was listed in Guinness World Records as the oldest cognac in the world. Now, a droplet of this 250-year-old alcohol was placed in the capsule enclosed on the reverse of a Cognac Coin. This extraordinary collectible was created thanks to cooperation between a Lux Coin company, which specializes in trading in collector and bullion coins, and the Mint of Poland, which is famous for the fact that of producing collectible coins almost in every technology. The former came up with an idea of creating such a coin and provided Cognac Gautier 1762 for the purposes of the project. The latter, in turn, decided to bring the idea to life. The results are exceptional.

The Cognac Coin was minted in as few as 300 copies, each of which is made of 2 ounces of the highest purity gold (99.99%). It is already a third gold coin that belongs to the Spirit Coins series created by Lux Coin. The series includes Whisky Coin, Rum Coin, and Cognac Coin. Each of them contains a capsule filled with rare and extremely old alcohol. The first coin contains the oldest whisky in the world (Old Vatted Glenlivet 1862), the second one is filled with the oldest rum in the world (Harewood Rum 1780), whereas the above-mentioned Cognac Coin is home to Cognac Gautier 1762. The Cognac Coin is  available on the website lux-coins.com. You can purchase it separately or jointly with the entire series along with a special book on this project as well as a wooden display stand.

– The Cognac Coin tops the entire project up which has involved hiding the oldest spirits into gold coins for the very first time in the history. This series of unique collectibles are attractive to both lovers of rare alcohol and collectors of gold coins at the same time. In order to make it possible, we had to not only break down technical barriers, but also spare unique alcohol, however, the effect that we achieved was certainly worth the energy we put into this project – said Magdalena Mroczkowska, Managing Director at Lux Coin.
